Pack your kids and swimsuits and join Art Week and ARKEN for Family Art Bar and co-creation of art piece ‘Gelænderværk’.

The artist group Gelænderværk invites children and adults to participate in co-creating art piece ‘Gelænderværk’ – a 20 meter long clay form that emerges through the day using tools and found objects collected from the surrounding area.

The final piece is revealed by the children-participants at the vernissage and party at 15:00 with free popcorn and soft drinks. All co-creators will be able to bring a piece of the artwork home with them afterwards.

The sun will be shining all day of course and the beach is only a stone’s throw away if/ when a dip is
called for.

From 12:00-13:30 everyone is invited to join a communal lunch at ARKEN.

It is free to participate in ‘Gelænderværk’ with admission to the museum for adults. It is totally free for children under 18. Admission to all ARKEN exhibitions and workshops is included in the ticket. Communal lunch at set price. Everyone is very welcome.

About the art piece: “We want to activate our children’s sensitivity and material sense by introducing them to a shape with different textures, tactile surfaces, shapes, and materials. Through an open, inclusive, and exploratory process, we create a communal art work that is a tribute to the hand and its sensitivity.”

Gelænderværk are: Rune Fjord, Nicolai Appel, H.C. Asmussen, and Oliver Strunck.
