Hosting Analogies is a research-based exhibition framed and conceptualized by curators Nanna Balslev Strøjer and Rebekka Elisabeth Anker-Møller. The exhibition revolves around ‘hosting’ as a social, cultural and political phenomenon, and thereby also indirectly illuminates the curator’s role as host and producer of knowledge. Hosting Analogies thus takes shape as a kind of work room, where clippings from articles, novels, films, music etc. mixes with selected items and objects, all of which in different ways point to – and nuance – hosting as subject and negation. The workroom is occupied from time to time by performance artist Sara Arenfeldt, who performs the exhibition in different ways and thereby stages the theme of hosting.
