Kristian and Emilie met each other at Fatamorgana, Denmark’s Photographic Art School, in 2007. Since then, they have developed their photographic languages independently but have remained in contact. Both of the artists work experimentally with installation, sculpture, space, photography, painting, and ceramics. Kristian works with rust as a central medium in this exhibition, in which the material’s tensions resolve with time, and Emilie works with the oldest photographic technique, cyanotype. In these artists’ works, the elements of time, metal, the sun, paper, and water to create and images. Some things remain and others pass. Intervals of time are captured within forms. They create a common language allowing viewers to meditate on time, space, and surfaces.
