Join us for a guided tour of the artist Roman Signer’s first major solo exhibition in Scandinavia. Roman Signer has spent the last fifty years of his career engaging with sculptural processes and redefining what a sculpture can be. He is principally a visual artist who works with sculpture, photography and video. Time, motion and gravity are recurring elements in Roman Signer’s practice. The effects in his works are achieved by combining basic elements like fire, water, and wind with familiar everyday objects like umbrellas, kayaks and boots, and then subjecting them to an unexpected process.
The exhibition at Malmö Konsthall presents works from Signer’s entire career, from the 1970s to the present day, including a new work produced specifically for Malmö Konsthall. In total, around twenty works will be shown, alongside documentation of several sculptural and performative processes.
