On the 3rd of June, the group exhibition Largely (not wholly) presents the 75 artists and designers at FABRIKKEN for Kunst og Design. An exhibition in the 1000m² production hall where practices meet, interact, and inspire each other. A space where knowledge is exchanged across social and professional economies; capital, and generations. On the opening day, we’ll greet you with open studios, performances, workshops for all ages, and food to be enjoyed in our garden.

The exhibition is curated by visual artists Isabella Solar Villaseca and Maria Nørholm Ramouk. An exhibition showing the diverse work produced at FABRIKKEN. In these challenging times our resources, capital, and trust are put on edge. As cultural workers we largely (but realistically not wholly) do our best to accommodate around, and to, societal structures; sometimes we fight together, sometimes by ourselves. Resiliently working in a world where labor is measured in profit. Resiliently choosing a path where alternative solutions, forms, images, and ideas are created.

Solar Villaseca examines cultural traditions and resistance forms. Villaseca’s work gives us a sense of collectivity, of its pleasure, its allure, and the ambiguous promise of belonging.
Nørholm Ramouk explores how resources affect the communities with which we identify, and how these groups are organized internally. What fascinates Ramouk is how social contexts, social heritage, resources, and cultural relations are intertwined.
