Anders Lindstrøm’s (1999) works attempt to characterize Copenhagen as an environment, as an ecosystem. Instead of focusing on a specific area, theme or population group, his project is to see the city as an arena, a cage within which society plays out. In this nice, relatively clean city, Lindstrøm’s photos uncover the animalism in its people, despite and in cooperation with the veneer of civility.
Lindstrøm’s works are exhibited in BOKS, a mobile exhibition space run by the art group PRUST. Before BOKS was BOKS, it was used to transport sheep and horses – through BOKS, Lindstrøm’s people perform on the same stage as the animals.
