In front of Hrafnhildur Halldórsdóttir’s exhibition, you are invited for a morning coffee and something sweet on the sidewalk. In conversation with curator Sara Lubich, artist Hrafnhildur Halldórsdóttir will talk about the exhibition KOMBINATION and her practice.
Hrafnhildur Halldórsdóttir (born 1973) is originally from Iceland, studied at Glasgow School of Art (BA and MFA) and is now based in Copenhagen. She works with sculpture, textile, painting and installations.
Hrafnhildur Halldórsdóttir’s exhibition KOMBINATION in Gallery 1,4 m3 is created specifically for the window exhibition space. The work consists of a painting that has been deconstructed into layers and placed so it presents itself as an abstract work in three dimensions. The depth of the space and the confines of the window are all elements which are utilised in order to create a combination of planes of colour, dimensions and textures and transforms the window into a piece of work.
