As part of the Artweek’s RETUR – programme three performanceworks will travel from the Away Games they were planned for – and back to the artists own Home Field in Copenhagen. Here they will be shown in the lockerrooms of Skjold Contemporary, wich is an exhibition space within the soccer club Skjold FC.
Ida Brottman will be showing the work ”Benchwarmer”, her thesis work from 2018. Here we meet girls who sit passively on benches waiting; Waiting for a dance, waiting to be seen. The work is part of a research project investigating economy, ethics of feminine visibility, work and value.
Peter Højbjerg will revisit the work Bøvl – Løsning – Bøvl – ∞. In the fall of 2021 Peter Højbjerg walked for a week between the towns of Bøvl og Løsning, two towns whose names can be translated to “trouble” and “solution”. Peter walked a route in the shape of an infinitysign to connect these two locations in each their own loop.
Ulla Hvejsel will also stay with the trouble and reenact yet another sitespecific performance, which was originally made for and performed in “Bøvling” another location in Jutland with a name that resembles trouble. She will show a version of her ”Talking out of my ass-quizzes” which was made for the community house of that town.
Apart from these ”Retur” works you will also be able to see the current show “Viva Olé a go go” by Thorgej Steen Hansen.
