This year’s city artist: Nástio Mosquito

Cph Art Week has invited the internationally rising star of contemporary art Nástio Mosquito (b. 1981, Angola) as this year’s city artists. As a multimedia artist, interweaving performance, video, music, installation, sound and poetry to express his ideas, Mosquito creates artworks that are both highly visual, humorous, emotional and thought-provoking. Focusing on themes such as identity, nation, religion and citizenship Mosquito intertwines stories referring to diverse subjects such as the Angolan Civil War, sexual politics, consumerism, human bigotry, racism and other symptoms of globalization that challenges the human condition. The voice of Nástio Mosquito’s is as contemporary as it gets!

During Cph Art Week, Nástio Mosquito will present a selection of works comprising both performance, live concert, video installation and intervention.
