BLACK METAL ART BAR in the Friisland Center for Performance Art. Bring your swimming trunks for a summer evening by the sea – with performance, vernissage and a Black Metal concert. John Huntington’s performance lecture “The Dark Administrator” about gloomy rituals in public administration is accompanied by apocalyptic sounds by the Swedish musician Dödsvarg, followed by a black metal concert by ILLA (Hele Orkestret) and GREV TROLD (Claus Haxholm project).
The performance can also be experienced on the 4th of June. The following exhibition in Friisland will display remains from ceremonial bureaucratic actions until 30 June 2023.
John Huntington is a Swedish artist working in a conceptual tradition, expressed through performative, sculptural, textual and immersive art projects. Educated at Konstfack in Stockholm and at the Art Academy in Umeå. Living and working in Gothenburg.
FRIISLAND was founded in 2021 to present and promote the discussion, documentation and development of research-based, interdisciplinary and performative practices.
